New Delhi, July 27 -- The Indian Stock Markets on Monday ended with sharp gains, ending their five-day losing streak.
The markets was supported by broad-based buying across sectors amid easing geopolitical tensions and a sharp decline in crude oil prices.
At close, the Sensex was up 776.01 points or 1.02 percent at 76,835.78, and the Nifty was up 228.50 points or 0.96 percent at 23,995.95. The Nifty Midcap 100 rose 1pc while the Nifty Smallcap 100 gained 1.3pc.
The overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms rose to nearly Rs 481 lakh crore from nearly Rs 476 lakh crore in the previous session.
This has made the investors richer by Rs 5 lakh crore in a single session.
