New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- The combined market valuation of nine of the top-10 most-valued firms jumped Rs 2.51 trillion in a week. Bajaj Finance emerged as the biggest winner, in tandem with a positive trend in equities.
In a week, the gainers were Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). On the losing end was Hindustan Unilever, emerging as the only laggard.
Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 2,034.87 points, or 2.67 per cent, and the NSE Nifty surged 616.15 points, or 2.59 per cent.
