New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- The market valuation of five of the top-10 most valued firms eroded by nearly Rs 1 trillion last week, with IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) taking the biggest hit. The market capitalisation (mcap) of TCS declined by Rs 34,263.28 crore to Rs 8,53,506.85 crore.
Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) and TCS witnessed a decline in their market valuations. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Hindustan Unilever emerged as gainers among the top-10 firms.
These five firms together added Rs 55,149.45 crore in market valuation.
