Mumbai, April 24 -- A sharp escalation of tensions has disrupted normalcy in the Mira-Bhayander region, where a dispute over the mandatory use of the Marathi language and the rights of non-local auto-rickshaw drivers has triggered a political and social confrontation.
The situation intensified after the arrival of lawyer Gunaratne Sadavarte in the Indralok area, where he extended support to non-Marathi auto drivers.
