Ranchi, Aug. 27 -- BJP state president and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi has accused the INDIA bloc-led government of shielding illegal voters by opposing the Survey of Illegal Residents (SIR).

Warning that unchecked demographic shifts threaten Jharkhand's tribal identity, he cited census data, abnormal voter roll growth, and constituency-level trends to allege that Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators were being settled and enrolled with political backing. He demanded a door-to-door verification of the state's electoral rolls.
