California, June 19 -- Switzerland struck four times in a dramatic final 16 minutes to overpower 10-man Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in their FIFA World Cup Group B match at SoFi Stadium here on Thursday, moving to four points from two games and taking a major step towards the knockout stage.
After a largely uneventful contest remained goalless for more than 70 minutes, Switzerland transformed the match through the impact of substitutes Johan Manzambi and Ruben Vargas. The pair combined to unlock the Bosnian defence before Switzerland ran riot against a side reduced to 10 men.
The breakthrough came in the 74th minute when 20-year-old Manzambi volleyed home from close range after Vargas' delivery created confusion inside the penalty area.
