Varanasi, Aug. 18 -- BJP MP and Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday hit out at the Congress over the controversy surrounding 'Vande Mataram', questioning the patriotism of those opposing the singing of the national song in its entirety and saying that such people "cannot even be Indian".

Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple during the holy month of Shravan, Tiwari said those who oppose the entire 'Vande Mataram' should explain their position and that the issue deserved wider public discussion.

"It is natural to question the feelings towards India of a person who cannot sing the entire 'Vande Mataram'," he said, while targeting the Congress over the controversy surrounding the national song.
