Imphal, July 27 -- Manipur players continued their impressive run at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow as weightlifter Bindyarani Devi Sorokhaibam clinched the bronze medal in the women's 58 kg event, adding another feather to the state's rich sporting legacy.
Congratulating the athlete, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla described the achievement as a proud moment for both Manipur and the nation.
He noted that Bindyarani's medal marks Manipur's third podium finish at the Commonwealth Games 2026, following Saikhom Mirabai Chanu's gold medal in the women's 48 kg weightlifting event and Chanambam Rishikanta Singh's silver medal in the men's 60 kg category.
