Imphal, May 23 -- In a major anti-drug operation, Manipur Police seized a huge consignment of suspected narcotic substances, including 40,000 WY tablets and suspected brown sugar, during a frisking and checking operation in Churachandpur district yesterday, police on Saturday said.

Police said a four-wheeler was intercepted at a temporary motor vehicle check post set up at Suangdoh village under Singnat Police Station.

During the operation, police arrested the occupant of the vehicle, identified as Siamkhansuan Samte of Gouchinkhup Veng, New Lamka, Churachandpur district.

The seized items included 33 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar and 40,000 WY tablets weighing approximately 3.8 kg. The intercepted vehicle and a mobile phone...
