Imphal, Nov. 4 -- Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has written to union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, seeking urgent intervention to address the drastic reduction in flight operations from Imphal.
The Governor today expressed deep concern over the decline in air connectivity, which has caused immense hardship to the people of the state.
In his letter, Governor Bhalla highlighted that the number of daily flights between Imphal and Guwahati has dropped from five to just two, with no early morning or late evening departures. Similarly, flights connecting Imphal to Kolkata have been reduced from five to two, operating only at 9:15 a.m. and 11:55 a.m., leaving no evening travel options.
