Imphal, Oct. 22 -- Ningol Chakkouba, one of the most significant festivals of Manipur, will be celebrated tomorrow with great enthusiasm.
Observed on the second day of the Manipuri month Hiyangei, the festival celebrates the cherished bond of love and respect between married women and their parental families.
On this day, married women visit their parental homes, where they are welcomed with a lavish feast and gifts. Various shops and dealers have announced special sales, and the state government is organizing a fish mela today at Hapta Kangjeibung in Imphal East-an essential part of the festival preparations.
