Imphal, Oct. 14 -- The 24th conference of the Manipur Loumi Marup (Manipur Farmers' Association) was held on Wednesday at the Pensioners' Office near Pishum Chingnga, with President Nongmaithem Thoiba Singh inaugurated the conference by hoisting the organisation's red flag bearing the plough and sickle.
Addressing the inaugural session, Vijoo Krishnan, General Secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha, with which the Manipur Loumi Marup is affiliated, said the BJP-led NDA government would not withdraw the laws it had enacted against the interests of farmers.
