Imphal, May 27 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today hailed the union Government's decision to constitute a High-Level Committee to study demographic changes in the country, terming it a "historic and long-awaited intervention" for Manipur and other border states.
In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister expressed profound appreciation to the union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for setting up the committee to examine demographic changes arising out of illegal immigration and other abnormal factors.
