Imphal, March 25 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Tuesday affirmed that the Meiteis of the state are Manipuri-Meiteis, the Nagas of the state are Manipuri-Nagas, the Kukis are Manipuri-Kukis and the Meitei Pangals are Manipuri- Meitei Pangals.
He said the very idea of Manipur is founded on the unity and coexistence of diverse communities.
The Chief Minister was addressing the "Commemoration of Kangla Attack" (Anglo Manipur War-1891) held at Bir Tikendrajit Park (Pheidabung), Imphal today.
