Imphal, June 6 -- With an aim to inculcate the habit of planting trees and promote environmental conservation, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh led others in planting tree saplings in connection with the World Environment Day 2026 under the theme "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future".
As part of the programme, held at the 50-Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital, Lamphelpat, Imphal West, today, CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh, participated in the plantation of medicinal plants.
The species planted included Arjuna and Ashoka respectively, both known for their medicinal significance.
