Imphal, Aug. 12 -- Manipur Chief Minister Khemchand Singh on Wednesday called on people possessing illegal weapons across the hills and valley to surrender them within 15 days, warning that those who fail to comply will face action under the law.
Addressing a programme on "Display on the Initiatives towards bringing Normalcy in Manipur" at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground in Imphal, Singh said the weapons could be surrendered through the respective Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) or Superintendent of Police.
The Chief Minister said the prolonged crisis, which began on May 3, 2023, had adversely affected the development of the State.
