Imphal, Oct. 25 -- Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday flagged off a bike rally from Kangla Western Gate in Imphal to mark the 37th Loktak Day Celebration 2026, highlighting the importance of conserving Loktak Lake and protecting its unique ecosystem.
Organised by the Loktak Development Authority (LDA), Government of Manipur, the rally witnessed the participation of around 200 bikers carrying banners and messages to raise public awareness about the need to preserve the state's iconic freshwater lake.
The rally aimed to encourage greater public participation in environmental conservation and promote responsible tourism, recognising Loktak Lake as one of Manipur's most valuable natural assets.
