Imphal, March 8 -- Manipur Chief Minister, Y Khemchand Singh on Sunday announced Rs 350 crores for welfare of 3.5 lakh women who have been affected by the recent unrest.

Khemchand made the announcement during the celebrations of International Women's Day on the theme "Rights, Justice and Action for All Women and Girls" at the City Convention hall. Khemchand noted that women of Manipur play a pivotal role in politics, economy and all other realms of life.

He said the government is aware of the problems faced by women and in the 2026-27 budget, Rs 350 crores has been earmarked to provide assistance to the women in the state.
