Kangpokpi (Manipur), Aug. 8 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday announced that National Highways across the state will reopen to unrestricted movement for all communities, and that bus service between Imphal and Dimapur will resume.
The decision was welcomed as a step toward restoring peace after prolonged ethnic conflict in the state which has seen complete blockade of roads and highways since May 3, 2023.
For the first time after 2023, an official function was held today at Kangpokpi district attended by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and MLAs.
