Imphal, May 15 -- Armed groups and unknown persons in Manipur have released 31 hostages belonging to Kuki and Naga communities who had been abducted from different parts of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts on May 13.
More than six persons are still feared to be in the hands of the suspected militants.
Police said 28 persons were released today by the captors after mounting pressure from several Manipur-based organisations that urged the state government to ensure the safe release of all the persons.
Three persons were released yesterday and according to the women who were released today about six Naga men were still held captive.
