Imphal, Sept. 13 -- The Manipur government today appealed to the Campaign for Justice and Fair Delimitation (JFD) to withdraw its agitation demanding the closure of central and State government offices over the demand for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Speaking at a press conference held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat here, Manipur government spokespersons MLA Th. Radheshyam Singh and MLA Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh urged all concerned not to undertake activities that could further inconvenience the public.
Th. Radheshyam said the State government was fully aware of the JFD's demands and acknowledged that people in Manipur wanted the NRC to be conducted before the Census.
