New Delhi, June 24 -- A fresh controversy has erupted in Indian table tennis after star paddler Manika Batra threatened legal action against the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) following her exclusion from the Indian squad for the Asian Games.

The 31-year-old Olympian, India's top-ranked women's singles player, was left out of the 10-member squad and named only among the reserves, a decision taken on the basis of selection criteria reportedly linked to mandatory participation in national-level competitions.
