Birmingham, June 14 -- Smriti Mandhana struck a fluent 68 and Richa Ghosh provided a blazing late flourish as India Women posted a challenging 170 for six against Pakistan Women in their ICC Women's T20 World Cup Group A match at Edgbaston on Sunday.

Mandhana anchored the innings with a 44-ball knock featuring nine fours and two sixes, while Richa smashed 34 off just 17 deliveries to lift India in the closing stages after Pakistan had clawed their way back into the contest.

India's innings got off to a mixed start as Shafali Verma hit the first ball of the match for six before falling in the same over to Sadia Iqbal. Jemimah Rodrigues was dismissed for one, leaving India at 18 for two inside four overs.
