New Delhi, July 23 -- union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday joined members of the Indian diaspora in Glasgow for a cycling event organised under the 'Cheer 4 Bharat' campaign, aimed at boosting the morale of Indian athletes competing in the 2026 Commonwealth Games while promoting the importance of fitness.
India is taking part in its 19th Commonwealth Games with a 124-member contingent competing across eight able-bodied sports and five para-sports. The country's campaign begins with the lawn bowls events.
Speaking during the event, Mandaviya said the campaign was about more than just supporting Indian athletes, adding that it also carried a message of fitness and healthy living.
