London, Oct. 2 -- Manchester City confirmed on Friday that it has lodged an appeal against a ruling by an independent commission that found the club guilty of all charges relating to alleged breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations.

In a brief statement, Manchester City said the commission's ruling contained "clear material errors, of law, principle and fact" and was "unsafe."The club maintained its innocence and said it had submitted "a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence" on Thursday evening in support of its position on all the issues concerned.
