Bareilly, March 17 -- A man accused of murdering his mother-in-law and brother-in-law in Bareilly was killed in a police encounter on Tuesday morning.
According to Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya, the accused, identified as Afasar Khan alias Baura, opened fire on police when he was surrounded during an operation in the Izzatnagar police station area around 6 a.m.
Police had received a tip-off from an informant about the suspect's location. When the police team tried to arrest him, he allegedly fired at them. In retaliatory firing by the police, the accused was shot. He was taken to the district hospital but died on the way.
