Lucknow, March 18 -- A sensational case resembling an honour killing has emerged in the Ashiyana area of Lucknow.
A 32-year-old man, Vishnu Yadav, was allegedly beaten to death by his father-in-law, advocate Teerath Raj Singh, who opposed his daughter's love marriage. The incident occurred on Tuesday night at the family residence, police said on Wednesday.
Vishnu had married Singh's daughter Sakshi four years ago against the family's wishes. On Tuesday, he visited his in-laws' house at his wife's insistence. Later that night, an argument broke out between Vishnu and his father-in-law, which escalated into violence.
