Patna, Aug. 31 -- A special NDPS court here on Monday sentenced a man to 12 year's rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh for smuggling five kilograms of charas.
Special NDPS Court No.I at Patna Civil Court convicted Kalamuddin, a resident of Bahalolpur in Dhaka block of East Champaran district, under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and awarded the sentence.
In case of failure to pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional six months' imprisonment.
