Puducherry, April 11 -- One person was arrested for casting bogus vote at the Mannadipet constituency in the April 9 Puducherry assembly elections.
According to sources, the man came to the polling booth at the Jawaharlal Nehru Community centre to cast his vote, when the Presiding Officer called his name as Sreenivasan.
When the Congress agent grew suspicious about his identity, the man had cast his vote by that time.
When he came out, the Congress agent intercepted him and raised doubts about his identity and later handed him over to the police.
On inquiry, it came to know that the man is from Villupuram district of neighbouring Tamil Nadu and his name was Aravid (31).
