Kolkata, Nov. 4 -- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday sharply questioned the Election Commission's decision to conduct the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in only three of the four poll-bound states, accusing the Commission of "picking and choosing" opposition-ruled states for the process while sparing Assam.
"Why is the SIR being done just three months before elections? Why only in Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu - all opposition-ruled states - and not in Assam, which is also going to polls?" Banerjee asked while addressing a Trinamool Congress rally in Kolkata.
