Kolkata, Feb. 1 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the union Budget, describing it as a "garbage of lies" and accusing the Centre of deliberately depriving West Bengal of its dues.
Speaking to the media at Kolkata airport before leaving for Delhi, Banerjee said the Budget had nothing to offer to common people or social security and reflected political bias against the state.
"There is nothing for ordinary citizens. There is nothing for social security. They will lose in Bengal. Politically, they cannot do anything here. That is why West Bengal is being deprived," the Chief Minister said, alleging that the BJP-led Centre was denying funds because it anticipated electoral defeat in the state....
