Kolkata, Dec. 8 -- West Bengal chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday slammed the BJP claiming that some of its leaders in Rajya Sabha expressed that they do not like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, nor Mahatma Gandhi and opposed a recent notification from Rajya Sabha that Vande Mataram composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay can not be sung.
Addressing the media at the city airport before boarding on a flight to Cooch Behar, Banerjee lashed out against the BJP leaders saying they do not know the contribution of West Bengal.
She said the Vande Mataram was composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, which became the National song and Jana Gana Mana by Rabindranath Tagore which is now the National anthem.
