Kolkata, Nov. 3 -- West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today condoled the passing awayof her long time party colleague and five-time MLA Mainul Haque, who died in the wee hours of the dayfollowing a massive cardiac arrest.
Haque was 63 years old.
Former legislator Mainul Haque, who represented the Farakka assembly constituency in the Murshidabad district five times from 1996, had been ailing for a long time, breathed his last during the early hours of today.
Mainul Haque first contested in 1996 with Congress ticket and won the election and then on the next four occasions he represented the Farakka seat with the grand old party.
In 2011 he lost to the TMC candidate and then switched over to the ruling party.
