Thiruvananthapuram, July 7 -- A Malayali medical student was allegedly murdered in Uzbekistan after being struck on the head with a laptop by a fellow student.
The victim has been identified as Savariya (22), a native of Haripad in Kerala, sources said today.
The incident took place about four days ago. Savariya suffered a severe head injury in the attack, which resulted in internal bleeding. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
The accused, Sadarul Anam (23), a native of Perinthalmanna in Kerala's Malappuram district, has been arrested and is currently in the custody of Uzbek police. Both the victim and the accused were students at Bukhara State Medical University in Uzbekistan.
