Lucknow, June 26 -- Amidst preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress leadership has made a major change in the state organization, appointing former Delhi government minister Rajendra Pal Gautam as the new in-charge of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee in place of Avinash Pandey.
This change is being seen as a strategy to make the organization more active and effective in view of the upcoming elections.
A former MLA from the Seemapuri Assembly constituency in Delhi, Gautam also served as the Social Welfare Minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government.
