Bhubaneswar, July 30 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed confidence that the long-pending Mahanadi water dispute with Chhattisgarh would be resolved at the earliest through cooperation among all stakeholders, while fully safeguarding the interests of the people of Odisha.

Majhi, who is currently in New Delhi, attended a high-level meeting on the Mahanadi water dispute chaired by union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil.

The meeting was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Secretaries of Odisha and Chhattisgarh, the Secretary of the union Ministry of Jal Shakti, and other senior officials.
