Chennai, June 5 -- The first Tamil Nadu Assembly session of the newly-formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) regime headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will commence on June 18, with the customary address to the new House by Governor R V Arlekar.

Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar on Friday told reporters at the State Secretariat that the first session of the newly constituted 17th Legislative Assembly will begin at 10.00 AM on June 18, Thrusday at the Assembly premises, when the Governor will deliver his customary address--his and also the government's first--to the House on that day.
