Bhubaneswar, May 27 -- The Orissa High Court has directed both the State Government and the Centre to act on reports concerning alleged illegal constructions, encroachments and other man-made disturbances at Mahendragiri, a protected biodiversity heritage site housing several ASI-protected monuments.
Hearing a writ petition, the Vacation Bench comprising Justice K.R. Mohapatra and Justice Mruganka Sekhar Sahoo asked the Deputy Solicitor General of India and the State's Additional Government Advocate to obtain instructions in the matter. The court has posted the case for further hearing after the summer vacation.
