Mumbai, April 15 -- As temperatures continue to soar across Maharashtra, the state government has introduced strict measures to protect citizens and outdoor workers from the intensifying heatwave.
Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan has announced a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), imposing restrictions on outdoor work during peak afternoon hours.
To curb heat-related illnesses and fatalities, the government has ordered a complete halt to all outdoor work between 12 PM and 4 PM during 'Orange' and 'Red' heatwave alerts. Revised working hours have been implemented, allowing work from 6 AM to 11 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM.
