Mumbai, Aug. 29 -- A Sub-Inspector attached to the Maharashtra Police allegedly died by suicide in Hingoli city in Marathwada on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Amol Gangalwad, who reportedly died in the Khatkali Bypass area of Hingoli. According to preliminary information, he was in uniform at the time of the incident.
Police said Gangalwad had been transferred from Parbhani to the control room of the Hingoli Superintendent of Police's office around two months ago.
Following the incident, police identified the deceased and sent his body for post-mortem examination.
