Mumbai, March 25 -- Highlighting that the onion crisis resurfaces in Maharashtra every year, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday stressed the urgent need for a lasting solution while ensuring immediate support for onion-growing farmers.
To address the situation, a high-level committee comprising the Additional Chief Secretary of the Agriculture Department, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, and the Secretary of the Marketing Department will be constituted. The Chief Minister has directed the panel to recommend urgent measures for farmer relief as well as to design long-term strategies to permanently resolve the issue.
