Mumbai, July 3 -- In a major push to ensure justice for the marginalized and improve the efficacy of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a comprehensive set of reforms aimed at plugging loopholes in the judicial process.
The directive comes following a state-level vigilance and monitoring committee meeting at the Vidhan Bhavan, where the Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the low conviction rates in cases filed under the Act.
