Mumbai, Sept. 5 -- Maharashtra's Directorate of Primary Education has directed schools across the state to strictly implement the Centre's School Bag Policy-2020, with a focus on reducing the physical burden on students and promoting a more joyful, activity-based approach to learning.
Under the leadership of Director of Primary Education Sharad Gosavi, schools have been instructed to ensure that a student's school bag weighs no more than 10 per cent of their body weight. The move aims to protect growing children from health problems such as chronic back pain, shoulder strain and other physical discomfort associated with carrying heavy bags every day.
