Mumbai, March 18 -- The Maharashtra government has taken a major step to ensure the timely implementation of recommendations made by the State Human Rights Commission by appointing a dedicated Nodal Officer.

Responding to a question raised by MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar during the Legislative Assembly's Question Hour, Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam informed the House that the government is also considering setting up a separate administrative "Head" and launching an online portal to enhance transparency.
