Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- The Maharashtra government has banned 114 publications, magazines and other literature allegedly linked to terrorist organisations, citing concerns over radicalisation, violent extremism and national security official said here on Friday.
The state Home Department issued a gazette notification under Section 98(1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, declaring the listed material forfeited to the government and ordering seizure of its physical and digital copies.
The decision was based on inputs from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), intelligence agencies and cyber monitoring units, the notification said.
