Mumbai, June 11 -- In a major policy intervention aimed at revitalizing the traditional pottery sector, the Maharashtra government has announced a decision to provide free raw materials to potters, sculptors, and brick-makers across the state.
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that under the new scheme, registered artisans will be entitled to receive up to 700 brass of soil and necessary sand annually, free of charge. The move is designed to alleviate the financial burden on traditional craftsmen and ensure the sustainability of their livelihoods.
