Mumbai, June 10 -- The Maharashtra government has sanctioned a fund of Rs25 crore to provide immediate financial assistance to the families of farmers who have died by suicide due to the recurring cycle of crop failure, mounting debt, and persistent repayment pressure.
The Revenue and Forest Department has officially issued a Government Resolution (GR) to expedite the distribution of these funds. Divisional Commissioners across the state have been directed to disburse the amounts immediately, based on the specific requirements submitted by their respective districts.
