Mumbai, May 16 -- : In a major escalation against unauthorized transport platforms, the Maharashtra State Cyber Department has directed tech giants Google and Apple to remove and disable access to ride-hailing applications Ola, Uber, and Rapido from their respective app stores.

The strict directive follows allegations that the aggregators have been operating illegal two-wheeler bike taxi services, flouting the state's Electric Vehicle (EV) policy, and severely compromising passenger safety norms.
