Nagpur, March 18 -- : The Maharashtra government has intensified its crackdown on LPG black marketing to safeguard uninterrupted supply for domestic users, officials said on Wednesday.

As per the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), enforcement agencies have carried out 2,129 inspections across the state, resulting in the seizure of 1,208 illegally traded LPG cylinders.

The ongoing drive has also led to the recovery of more than Rs 33 lakh in penalties from offenders.

Authorities have registered cases against 23 individuals under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, for hoarding, with 18 arrests made so far.
