Mumbai, June 24 -- The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly witnessed a significant policy announcement on Wednesday as Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif declared the state's decision to implement a 'Know Your Doctor' QR code-based system. This initiative, developed by the Maharashtra Medical Council, is aimed at curbing the rising menace of bogus medical practitioners in both rural and urban areas of the state.

The system will allow citizens to verify the authenticity of a doctor's professional credentials instantly by scanning a QR code, which will confirm whether the practitioner is officially registered.
